Tunisian Snow Crocus Pattern

Tunisian Snow Crocus was inspired by the colors of crocus in Tunisia. The wave of white are reminicent of snowy hills dotted with these crocus that are the early harbinger of Spring.

Throw this infinity scarf over your head and enjoy the warmth and softness you will feel around your neck!  Pick colors you like from pictures of Tunisian Snow Crocus. Google Tunisian Snow Crocus and wax creative with the natural colors of crocus. You will need to know how to do the Tunisian simple stitch, single crochet, and half-double crochet. Easy and fun, this scarf will get you ready for a any Season filled with hopes of Spring!!!

This is not a pattern for a beginning crocheter.  The crochet artist must know how to do basic Tunisian crochet and be willing to venture into new stitches and techniques.  The pattern is a downloadable PDF and requires adobe acrobat reader.  Click here It is also located on Ravelry.com.

Recommended Yarn: Malabrigo Arroyo or any white dk weight yarn.  This yarn will be used as your base background.  For the  snow crocus, used Malabrigo You will need 130 yards (38 gms) of color A (light color) and 160 yards (46gms) of color B (dark color). Be sure to make a swatch to test your guage.

I used Malabrigo Arroyo in Anniversario and White. I recommend two yarns that are sport or DK weight and have a high contrast. The crocus rows are the darker color and work up prettier with a variegated colorway. The border rows are in the lighter solid color.

Needle:
I used a size H/8 5.0 MM Tunisian crochet hook. Use a needle with a cable to accommodate the length and weight of the scarf. I used a ChaioGoo 24”, double hook, Tunsian crochet hook
Gauge: 4 Tss = 1” row and column. 4” x 4” square in Tunisian simple stitch should have 16 x 16 stitches Tss.
