CL0001: Beginning Sock Knitting Class

Beginning Sock Knitting Class is a 4 class series. You learn how to knit a sock cuff down.  Learn the German Cast On, which is a great stretchy cast on for anything with a cuff. After you master the cast on,  learn to join in the round and knit a ribbed cuff with both circular and double pointed knitting needles.  Homework is knitting the cuff and the leg of the sock.  After you finish your cuff and leg, we show you how to do the heel flap and the heel turn (my favorite part!).  After finishing your heel turn, learn how to pick up stitches and how to knit a heel gusset.  Homework is to finish your gusset!  Finally, we knit the foot of the sock and finish the toe!

Other things we teach you in Beginning Sock Knitting Class is how to select yarn and needles for sock knitting,  how to size your sock for your feet, and how to care for your socks.

Sock knitting is very satisfying because you use a variety of knitting techniques to make your sock.  Therefore, this class gives you expertise you can apply to any number of knitting projects.  Our Beginning Sock Knitting Class is fun and sets you up for applying what you learn to your knitting repertoire.   The class is limited to 4 students.  Count on lots of individual attention and the help you need to learn any of the techniques.

   Bring a water bottle.
