Spindling yarn is an ancient craft that will give you a new way to meditate and relax.  In this excellent Beginning Spindling Class, learn how to select the best spindle for you and how to use the spindle to make your own yarn.  Spindles have been found in the graves of mummies and most likely dates back to an ancient people who wanted to wear more than animal hides.  Spindling connects you to that ancient past and is very grounding.  A simple skill, spindling will give you gratitude for those who invited and left the craft for us to learn and enjoy.  It is also a creative way to find peace and you will have yarn to knit, crochet or weave with.

Spindling involves taking fiber and using the hand spindle to twist the fiber into yarn.  Learning the feel of the fiber as you spin is a big part of learning to spindle. It is also the most satisfying and the most meditative.  Choose to take this class taught by a wonderful instructor and give yourself a lifetime of creative peace.

The Spindling Class is one afternoon for 2 hours.  During that time you will learn about the different types of spindles and fibers that are used to spin yarn.  Karen will teach you about twist and how that twist makes yarn.  She will have you spinning yarn by the end of this two hour class.

I love the craft so much My husband and I purchased and run a fiber mill where we custom produce yarns and roving for the local farmers. Fibers First Inc. I am a true crafter at heart - quilting, knitting, crocheting, weaving, pineneedle basketry, beading, rug hooking, sewing, scrapbooking are a few of the crafts I love. Teaching others any of these crafts has always been a joy for me as I really want to see all these crafts carried forward for many generations to come.
