JOW: Rigid Heddle Weaving: Direct Warping
Learn to direct warp your rigid heddle loom and be ready to weave in 3 hours!
The class session runs for 3 hours. You will leave ready to weave on your warped loom!
During the session, you learn how to read and interpret a "recipe" draft for your project. You will work from a weaving plan for a scarf. You then learn how to use a warping peg to direct warp your loom.

Things you need to bring with you:
1. You will need to bring or buy 2 skeins of sport or worsted weight (medium) yarn. The yarn may be either variegated or solid colors. about 420 yards for warp and 167 yards to weave with.
2. If you have a warping peg and a loom you wish to work on, please bring them. The heddle with your loom may be either size 8 DPI or 10 DPI to work well with this pattern. The 8 is best for the medium sized yarn, or the 10 for the fine although there is some wiggle room to make good fabric with both.
3. Bring a heddle hook for threading your loom. If you don't have one, we will provide you with one.
4. You may also want to bring a small scissors and warping pegs if you have them.
5. Be sure to bring paper for taking notes and your reading glasses!!
6. Your sense of fun and adventure!

Student must bring a rigid heddle loom and 2 skeins of yarn. Alternatively, you may purchase a
Schacht Rigid Heddle loom from the shop. It contains all you need to take the class, including the yarn.
