J727: Beginning Weaving Part I - Winding a Warp

Beginning Weaving Part I-Winding a Warp is the first class in a three part series on how to weave.  You learn how to plan a weaving project (we have a scarf pattern we guide you through) and calculate the amount of weaving yarn you will need.  Judy Olsen, your instructor, teaches you how to calculate what you will need for your particular loom and project.  We have a wide selection of yarns for you to choose for your scarf.   You learn how to use a warping board to prepare your yarn for dressing a loom.  The whole process from beginning to end is designed to teach how to plan a weaving project and how to prepare the thread for preparing the loom for weaving.

Once you learn to plan a project and wind a warp, you are set to learn how to dress a loom and weave a finished project. Weaving is fun, teaches focus, and offers a forum for using color in a new artform. Learn to weave and pick up a great life skill!
